The BH Cristal is a world class women’s race specific frameset that sets a new standard for women’s fit, ride quality, performance and technology in the world of road cycling.The Cristal is the women’s specific G5 featuring ride tuning and performance tuned for female riders.

Like the G5, the Cristal frame is made up of a very high-end Toray fiber that is of a proprietary nature developed for Formula 1 and uses a monocoque construction method.

Far from being the usual “shrink and pink” of other women’s bikes on the market.

The Cristal frame shares the same refined carbon details that set the G5 apart from other elite carbon frames such as slotted carbon cable guides, integrated carbon front derailleur mount and full carbon dropouts.

The Cristal also features the same full carbon molded composite fork and 15mm offset aero seat post found on the G5.

Just as with the G5, the Cristal is designed to provide the optimum balance of torsional and side to side stiffness with excellent vertical compliance.

With the Cristal’s more compact frame design, we were able to focus on weight reduction and increased road damping.

The Cristal top tube has a very elegant thin swooping shape that is designed to look beautiful but also give the Cristal frame more vertical compliance. The down tube is also smaller than that of the G5 and will aid in increasing vertical compliance and overall ride quality.

What doesn’t change is the torsional stiffness of the Cristal. This means that the Cristal frame easily matches the stiffness of our G5 in sprinting, bottom bracket stiffness, and front end stability.

In addition to making the frame ride nice, it was imperative that we provide our female customers with a pro level race bike.

The geometry and sizing of the Cristal was based on fit data from decades of design experience in Europe, Chris Cocalis’s design expertise and input from cutting edge road shops across the US, in addition to feedback from our customers and racers. Chris (Cocalis) has designed and built well over 3000 custom frames over the last 18 years. All this experience has gone into making the Cristal the ultimate high performance women’s road.
